Carrolle Rushford owns Rushford & Associates, a Denver-based
training and consulting firm. She is a motivational speaker who
also conducts training in the areas of management skills, career
planning, motivation, communications, time management, diversity,
equal employment opportunity and identifying and preventing sexual
harassment.
Carrolle has an interesting and varied background and can readily
relate to Federal employees. She has 13 years of Federal service
with four different agencies. She began her Federal career as a
GS-3 clerk-typist with the Veteran's Administration in Helena, Montana
after graduating from high school.
Her first time in college, Carrolle studied music, but later went
on to get a degree in Business Administration, graduating from the
University of Montana in Missoula. She graduated with honors and
returned to Helena where she worked first for the Internal Revenue
Service, then as a fiscal analyst on a research project under the
Governors office.
She moved to Denver in 1975, taking a job as a trainer for the
US Office of Personnel Management. This was when she decided that
her real calling in life was to help people develop skills to make
them happier and more successful. After five years with OPM, Carrolle
worked for three years as an Equal Opportunity Specialist for the
Federal Highway Administration as she made plans to start her own
consulting business.
And in 1983, she did just that. She quit another good-paying Federal job (as her Mom used to say) and the rest is history.
Carrolle has received numerous awards over the years for her training
and her support of equal opportunity. She has presented training
in 43 of the 50 states, in Mexico, Germany, Hungary and Japan.
