A three-day training session
Background: This interactive training provides the most up-to-date
techniques to refine the skills necessary for a successful mediation
session for EEO complaints and other employment disputes. The session
will cover all the requirements identified in EEOC MD 110, and more.
Mediators involved in the EEO administrative process must have a clear
understanding of the mediation process, as well as knowledge of EEO
laws which include the entire EEO Process. This session will review
the Civil Service Reform Act and the statutes EEOC enforces, including
Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended; the Rehabilitation
Act of 1973, as amended; the Age Discrimination in Employment Act
of 1967, as amended; and the Equal Pay Act of 1963, as amended. Mediators
also must be familiar with the Theories of Discrimination, remedies,
compensatory damages, costs, and attorney fees.

Who should attend: EEO Officers, EEO Specialist, EEO Counselors
(both collateral and full-time), Bargaining Unit Representatives,
Special Emphasis Program Managers (both collateral and full-time),
EEO Officers, ADR specialists, HR and other Management Representatives
and others involved in EEO/HR activities are encouraged to attend.
ABOUT THE TRAINER:
Gregory Moore is a trainer, consultant, speaker, and author from
Sacramento, California. He has taught courses in equal employment
opportunity, sexual harassment and special emphasis programs since
1989, first as an EEO Officer with the U.S. Air Force, then as a
Senior Trainer for the famous Defense Equal Opportunity Management
Institute (DEOMI), and as the EEO Manager for a major defense agency.
He is the author of the EEO Counselor Training and Resource Guide,
the only comprehensive manual designed solely for the EEO Counselor.
Greg's creative training style, coupled with over fifteen years
of EEO experience allows each and every student to come away with
an in-depth understanding of the process and the ability to assist
participants in resolution. Greg is well known for his personal
enthusiasm, and his skill in presenting material in an informative
and interesting manner.
